Palimpsest- Ancient manuscripts written on vellum and parchment were scraped and washed in order to be used again (when supplies were limited).The process of cleaning the surface was often less than perfect and remnants of previous script would still be visible.

Like those manuscripts I purposefully leave marbling and other painted images on the canvas when I'm painting to enrich the poetics of my new images.I invite the viewer to have access to the interplay between the dynamics of old and new which is a fiction of his/her making,
