On Short Notice, 24 x 20"
A childhood friend sent me a clipping from the Press Democrat (a Santa Rosa, California newspaper) with photos of July skies over Sonoma County. I collaged and painted my rendition-paying homage to the land and sky where I grew up in the 40's and 50's.
Open Invitation 16 x 12"
" Will you be my father, my mother, great sleep of blue..."
from William Stafford's poem Sky. Sea and sky unite to invite more openness and acceptance.
Orca View, 26 x 20" Looking south and east from Whidbey, a desire to see an Orca whale.
The Only Moving Thing 22 x 16", sky-possibly; tumbling waves; eye of the crow message us to an hour of "blue therapy" at Fay Bainbridge park.
Eby's Landing 20 x 17", start of the trail head to Eby's Landing that we hiked a lot in our younger, adventurous days.
Phoenix Rising, 24 x 16" Clouds at sunset, this past summer, ignite in yellow, orange and peach flaming up and up. My spirit too goes aloft.
